Come and enjoy a relaxing day with us while we show you the best of Abel Tasman area and Golden Bay on a tour where you can enjoy “so many different landscapes in just one day!”
The morning starts with a bus tour to Kaiteriteri, where the cruise boat leaves.
You will cruise the coastline of the Abel Tasman Park with its golden sand and special features. One highlight is “Split Apple Rock”, a special granite formation. After 1.5 hours you arrive at Totaranui, the northern end of the National Park, where you get picked up for an afternoon drive in a mini bus with many exciting stops on the way. There will be the option for some short walks.
Enjoy the stunning beach in Totaranui with its crystal clear water - you could even fit in a swim here! We spend around ½ hour here before we start driving to our next destination.
Learn about Abel Tasman while we journey through the National Park and before stopping off for a short walk through the stunning bush with its interesting rock formations and special lookout point where you can enjoy the views of the Abel Tasman Memorial Site.
We will also spend some time in Takaka - a colourful interesting lifestyle town with wonderful lunch stop options, interesting shops, and locals.
In the afternoon we visit the well known “Waikoropupu Springs”, known for the clarity of the water and the volume of water discharged. The springs are spiritually significant to Maori people.
The tour ends with a scenic drive over Takaka Hill with stunning views over Abel Tasman and Golden Bay before we go back to Motueka and Nelson. It's the perfect day out and you are bound to be grinning ear to ear at the end of it!
Choose your seat on the boat inside or outside: Please bring some warmer clothes for the time on the boat. Please bring towel and swimming gear if you consider this.
Had such a perfect day so glad we did this tour! Karin our tour driver was awesome she catered well for my five year old son who really enjoyed sitting up at the front of the van with her. Thanks again ?
We took my parents to the tour and had such a wonderful time for our Christmas eve. Karin was so friendly, organised and the communication was great, all questions got answered clearly. Places visited were very interesting especially with Karin’s local knowledge. It was a small focused group and I would recommend this to anyone who wanted to have a relax but unique experience in Abel Tasman and Golden Bay area.
All the tour was well planning. Karin was a wonderful guide.
What a fantastic day out exploring Golden Bay. Karin and Katherine were very knowledgeable of the area and answered all my questions, all day long. It was really enjoyable going on three walks during the day, each was short and of different views. I can now say I've seen Farewell Spit, that was fascinating to me. Takaka township was unique, we had lunch in a once cinema and looked at craft shops before heading to the springs which was just so beautiful and clear. Lovely drive, so much to see. The van was comfortable with air conditioning too, it got hot during the afternoon. The boat from Kaiteriteri to Totaranui was excellent, beautiful golden sand and the skipper did great commentary of all our stops.

Excellent trip not dampened by rain
Our bus driver Shorty took us up to Kaiteriteri to catch our boat. It was a rainy day however we were able to glean info from Mark who gave us info on the various bays that were part of the Abel Tasman area. Once we reached the most northern point 1.5 hrs later at Totarani we were met by Katheryn who took us on an extensive ride back which included stops at Takaka, the Te Walkoropupu Springs and several lookouts. Great ice cream and fruit at Debra Don Farm. Met Shorty back in Mouteka and journeyed home. Highly recommend.
