Join us for a magical stellar evening with New Zealand’s only guided hot pools and star gazing experience!
Located at the renowned Tekapo Springs resort, the tour combines the spectacular Aoraki Mackenzie International Dark Sky Reserve with exclusive access to a relaxing hot pool.
The journey begins with an outdoor tour where you’re introduced to the dazzling night skies of Tekapo – look through telescopes and learn about fascinating astronomy with your guide! In poor weather you’ll enjoy a customised virtual reality tour of Tekapo’s night skies with a unique blend of science and storytelling.
You’ll then enjoy exclusive access to our soul-warming 38℃ hot pool where you can relax on a floating hammock and marvel at the sparkling display of stars as you explore the wonder of Tekapo’s night skies. Your guide remains poolside to tell you more about the stars and share local stories.
The Aoraki Mackenzie International Dark Sky Reserve boasts some of the clearest, darkest night skies in the world and is the largest reserve in the southern hemisphere.

We had a great experience and our tour guide is amazing as well as the other staff from Tekapo spring.
Unfortunately on the night we went there was cloud cover which was completely out of the companies control, however they adapted well into a vr tour of the sky as it would have been on a clear night. Moreover, once we went to the hotpools our guide was still able to point out the stars that were beginning to shine through the clouds and gave us lots of stories about culture, space and space missions. Very knowledgeable. I really enjoyed the evening even though it was cloudy.
DO NOT BOOK THIS IF THERE IS ANY POSSIBILITY OF CLOUDS! There was a chance of clouds but everything on their website and the people we spoke to there said the experience wouldn’t be hindered if clouds were present… They lied, we shouldn’t have believed them. The hot pools were bad and the VR experience was somehow worse. The information within the VR experience was just wrong at points and it’s age was incredibly apparent, the visuals were depressing and it droned on and on to the point of me taking it off and answering texts instead. There was zero refund or any rescheduling, I feel like stargazing should show us stars and they shouldn’t have mislead us, saying the experience as still worth it.
Knowledgeable and friendly presenters. Not their fault cloud came along at inconvenient moments. A large group (29) meant I always felt I could only have a quick peek in the telescopes. In the end, an expensive soak in a lovely hot pool. Could have been different on a better weather night.

Stargazing on Tekapo Spring
因天空不作美導致連一顆星星都看不到,但AR介紹及導覽員非常認真的介紹以及說明Tekapo跟Mackenzie的歷史跟有趣的事,值得一推
