Kia ora Klaus, Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback and rating us four stars. Pohutu geyser, as you have pointed out, is viewable from Whakarewarewa (we have two viewing platforms) and it is also accessible at Te Puia, our neighbours. If the sole purpose of your visit here was to get super close to the geyser (rather than purely take a photo with a gorgeous backdrop) then, you won't get this. We are clear about this in our marketing collateral (we share the outlook our visitors get - that's only fair) and certainly at Admissions. When visitors express that their sole purpose is to see the geyser (some people are not here for the culture, and we understand this), then we will have a conversation to find out exactly what they are looking for - and if this means we are not the best place for them to visit to meet their needs: We'll make other suggestions. For us, it's really important that our manuhiri (visitors), many of whom are on a 'once of a lifetime trip' get their needs met in the best way possible. We're happy to hear you enjoyed your guided tour. All the best with your onward travels.
